As a ovca patient who is about to start 12 months of maintenance chemo - which is somewhat controversial... I say if the regular chemo's aren't working, then let's go for anything. We are not talking unapproved drugs - these are tested, approved drugs...not just for that specific type of cancer. Waiting for clinical testing for the ladies that I know who are utilizing these approved, but off-label uses, would take longer than these wonderful women have.

I don't know... yeah, we (the laity) hire docs for their expertise, so if they say Take This, we will, but its a little unnerving to think that you're relying on the doc's personal ability -- and if he's wrong, hey, he's legally in the clear. I'd like to know in advance when that's happening. Is that unreasonable?

Okey dokey then...next time my Oncologist perscribes a drug I'll ask him if the FDA approved it for this purpose. I'm sure he'll be impressed. Rolling eyes...
